The Israeli League continued with a pair of Round 5 games on November 16 with Hapoel Jerusalem winning over Hapoel Tel Aviv being the highlight and NBA Draft prospect Yam Madar stealing the show.
Hapoel Holon – Hapoel Gilboa Galil 81-88
Netanel Artzi put up 21 points and Yiftach Ziv leading the away team to the “W”. On the other end, Tyrus McGee scored 25.
Hapoel Eilat – Maccabi Rishon 86-84
Casey Prather scored a game-high performance of 28 points and five rebounds to lead the hosts to victory, Josh Nebo added a double-double of 16 points and 12 boards.
Noam Dovrat led Maccabi Rishon with 20 points, Akil Mitchell had 18 points and Darryl Monroe added 17.
Maccabi Tel Aviv – Bnei Herzliya 86-92 (OT)
It took an extra five-minute period for Maccabi to defeat feisty Bnei Herzliya, though with the help of Ante Zizic (18 points, 7 rebounds) Giannis Sfairopoulos’ squad registered the win. Chris Jones added 17 points and 8 assists, while Tyler Dorsey and Elijah Bryant tapped 16 points each.
Frank Gaines posted a game-high of 34 points and six rebounds, Kendall Anthony had 22 and Coty Clarke left the court with 20 points, 8 rebounds.
Hapoel Haifa – Nes Ziona 106-91
Jason Siggers led the way for the winning side with 27 points while Amit Simhon added 20 and Keenan Evans 17 points. Evans also dished 12 assists.
On the opposing squad, Nimrod Levi banked in 24 and Davion Berry 19 points followed by Jordan Murphy with 18 points and 12 boards.
Hapoel Tel Aviv – Hapoel Jerusalem 76-88
Suleiman Braimoh scored 19 and Tamir Blatt 16 points for the victors while Idan Zalmanson and Tarik Phillip helped with 14 points each.
For the hosts, NBA draft prospect in Yam Madar had a strong output with 23 points on 9-20 shooting including two threes while Bar Timor scored 15.
Ironi Nahariya – Maccabi Haifa 110-102 (OT)
Kalin Lucas logged in 31 points and earned ten fouls during the overtime victory. Teammate Jaron Blossomgame punched in a 20-point, 13-rebound double-double.
Roman Sorkin got a team-high 25 points for the visitors.
