Zalgiris continued with strong performances, this time against Dzukija, while Jahenns Manigat handed Pieno the win over Siauliai in the last second

The trio of Zalgiris Kaunas, Rytas Vilnius and Nevezis-Optibet are leading the race in the standings with a 2-0 start, while Neptunas follows at 1-0.

Cbet – Rytas 80-90 

Rytas Vilnius defeated Prienai 90 – 80 on the road to grab its second straight win in the opening game of Day 2 in the Lithuanian League. Prienai led 30 – 18 at the end of the first quarter but the visiting side bounced back and outplayed its opponents 19 – 30 in the decisive final period to get the victory.

Martynas Echodas (14 points, 10 rebounds), Mindaugas Girdziunas (14 points) and Rokas Gustys (14 points) led a balance Rytas offense.

Marquis Wright had 16 points, six rebounds and six assists for Prienai. Regimantas Miniotas added 19 points as well, along with eight boards.

Dzukija – Zalgiris 62-95

Zalgiris put on another impressive display, this time in a convincing 95-62 win against Dzukija.

Nigel Hayes led the way with 14 points while Joffrey Lauvergne added 13 and Marius Grigonis 11 points.

Thomas Walkup logged an all-around performance with eight points, seven assists and seven rebounds. For Dzukija, Arturas Jomantas scored 18 and Matas Jucikas 12 points.

Siauliai – Pieno zvaigzdes 80-81

In an exciting game that went down to the wire, Jahenns Manigat banked a triple in the last second to hand Pieno zvaigzdes an 81-80 win over Siauliai.

Manigat finished with 19 points while Arvydas Siksnius helped with 15 and Andreja Milutiniovic with 12 points.

For Siauliai, Elvar Fridriksson had 19 points of his own in addition to Ryan Anderson’s 17 and Andy Van Vliet’s 12 points. Fridriksson also dished ten assists.

Nevezis – Lietkabelis 76-70

Nevezis turned last round’s victory to a streak by defeating Lietkabelis at home. Vaidas Kariniauskas was the enchanted hero for the hosts, as he finished the game with 26 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists.

On the other end of the court, Paulius Valinskas paced Lietkabelis with 20 points, 5 assists, though the team suffered its second defeat.

Neptunas Klaipeda – Juventus 88-97

Juventus exceeded its streak to four victories against Neptunas, paced behind Mindaugas Kupsas’s 20-point performance along with three rebounds and two assists. Julius Jucikas had 17 points, three rebounds, as Bryant Crawford, Zygimantas Skucas and Vytautas Sulskis all posted 10 points.

Evaldas Saulys led Neptunas with 17 points, Giedrius Stankevicius added 15 and Benas Griciunas left the court with 11 points.
