The former Turkish Airlines EuroLeague 3x champion will be added to Orlando Magic‘s coaching staff for the 2018-2019 NBA season.
Alongside him, the Magic will also add Bruce Kreutzer as an assistant coach. Both coaches were part of Steve Clifford’s staff at Charlotte for the Hornets and have now moved to Orlando.
Batiste started his coaching career in the NBA at Brooklyn, he then moved to Charlotte and now is heading to Orlando. On the other hand, Kreutzer has been an assistant coach in two NBA teams.
As it was reported by Josh Robbins, the two of them were in potential lottery pick Trae Young’s workout on Friday morning. The Magic pick sixth in the upcoming draft and so Batiste could affect who they will actually draft.
The Magic are on track to add Mike Batiste and Bruce Kreutzer to their coaching staff. Batiste and Kreutzer worked on Steve Clifford’s staff in Charlotte, and Batiste and Kreutzer attended Trae Young’s workout today. The Magic are still searching for a lead assistant coach.
