Casademont Zaragoza launches a search for a new head coach after parting ways with Porfirio Fisac, the Spanish club announced on Wednesday.

Fisac, 55, signed a two-year contract with Zaragoza in 2018. He since drastically improved the Aragon team in the ACB rankings landing sixth place and a semifinal playoffs run in the 2018-19 season, and third place in the 2019-20 table prior to the hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic. His side failed to advance past the preliminary round of the tournament launched to resume and conclude the season.

His domestic success guided Zaragoza to the Basketball Champions League. The Spanish outlet will be part of the Final Eight planned to wrap up the 2019-20 season in September and is among the sides guaranteed a spot in the 2020-21 regular season.
