Iberostar Tenerife managed to force overtime and had the game within their grasp but Christian Sengfelder stepped up to give Brose Bamberg a 98-96 home win.

Brose had a slight upper hand throughout the fourth quarter but Tenerife held on and Santi Yusta secured the overtime for his squad with a three-pointer. Sasu Salin also helped before that with a four-point play despite almost being sidelined due to a hit to the chest which seemed to have knocked him unconscious for a moment.

Yusta also nailed one early in the overtime to spark Tenerife’s 7-0 run which pushed them to a 96-92 lead but Brose’s Christian Sengfelder banked two straight three-pointers to hand the hosts the win.

Sengfelder finished with 17 points while Retin Obasohan logged 22 points and seven assists in addition to Assem Marei’s 18 points and eight boards.

On the other side, Yusta was perfect from deep with 5-5 and finished with 18 points while Aaron White, Giorgi Shermadini, Sasu Salin, and Marcelinho Huertas added 15 points each. Huertas also dished 11 assists while White grabbed nine and Shermadini eight boards.

Brose was out of the playoff contention prior to this game and will finish fourth in Group C with a 7-7 record while this loss puts Tenerife at the second spot with 11-3 in front of the playoffs.
