Alessandro Gentile is the new member of Panathinaikos and only the official announcement remains from both clubs in order for the deal to be official.
However, Gentile is not released from his contract with EA7 Emporio Armani Milano and he will play on loan until the end of the season with the Greens as “Gazzetta Dello Sport” reports. The demand of the player to be released in order to sign a new contract with the Greek powerhouse was not met. The two clubs are expected to meet again in the summer in order to negotiate the possible buy out of the player and the wish of Panathinaikos is to keep Gentile for a long time. That’s why they have made him an offer for a contract until 2018 which may also include an option for 2019.
The point is that Gentile will play for the Greens during the rest of the season and he is expected to make his debut against Olympiacos on January in the first Euroleague game of his new team for 2017.
