He has a contract with Fenerbahce until 2022 but the sides have been in talks about his possible exit from Istanbul and there is fertile ground for this transfer to be completed soon.
Prior to the EuroLeague season cancelation, The 32-year-old forward posted 8.3 points and 3.4 rebounds across 28 games with Fenerbahce in his fifth season with the club.
Datome won the 2017 EuroLeague with the Turkish club as well as three straight Turkish League trophies and a total of five Cups. He earned various MVP honors along the way including the Finals MVP in 2016.
With long-time coach Zeljko Obradovic deciding to part ways with Fenerbahce and with the club budget expected to be lower than the previous season, Datome might not be the only big-name player leaving the team.
Meanwhile, Fenerbahce still is on the market for a new coach.
