Shane Larkin scored 23 points and dished out nine assists in his second appearance with the Turkey as his team beat The Netherlands 73 – 71 in Istanbul to capture a much-needed first win in the 2022 EuroBasket Qualifiers.
The Netherlands, that trailed from a close distance for the whole fourth quarter, could’ve advanced to the EuroBasket with a victory. Despite their efforts, Turkey retained an advantage down the stretch and pushed back every attempt its opponents made to even tie the game.
Charlon Kloof led the Dutch team with 17 points and eight rebounds while Yannick Franke and Roeland Schaftenaar had 14 and 13 points respectively.
Sertac Sanli, Larkin’s teammate on Anadolu Efes, contributed 13 points for Turkey.
